On the 17th of Jan 2010, the five of us (Martin, Jono, Kelsey, Seth and Jen)will attempt - and hopefully succeed - to swim all of 1.9km, cycle 90km and run 21km in under 8 hours! The event is the Ironman 70.3, to be held in East London. We are doing it to raise funds for the Starfish Foundation, an organisation which is making a huge difference by taking care of children orphaned and made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.Being medical students we are exposed to the consequences of HIV/AIDS on a daily basis and the brunt of this disease falls very often on the children left to fend for themselves after their parents have passed away or are too sick to care for them.
As we are students ourselves, we know that money is tight for everyone but a little bit from lots of people can make all the difference! So please get donating!!!
