MaAfrika Tikkun
I started at MaAfrika Tikkun in 2008 as a volunteer doing sports, art and life skills as the youth facilitator in art and culture I was an assistant. I volunteered for one year then better best came and rescued me I finally got a stipend.
We did not have confidence but our coach or mentor Thomas Taole helped us by taking us out to the restaurants and exposed us to the new world and gave us the motivation that we needed to be strong and be able to stand on our own.
To partake on sport I started in 2008 when we start we did not bicycles for training we had mountain bikes and they were not good for cycling they were old and broken and stitch our trainer gave us the old cycling kit that he was using before. We went to three races for preparation of the London triathlon.
That was organised by the company called belron the I was chosen to be a cyclist with Tsiamo Phuthagae the runner and Teboho Shibambo the swimmer we went to London in 2009 August
We won the sprint triathlon, when we came back we went to the 94, 7 cycle challenge.
2010 triathlon
2010 i went to a preparation race in carnival casino that was organised by mec steel then we went to America with my two colleges to partake in the race that was organised by MaAfrika Tikkun and Safelite unfortunately we did not win but the experience meant a lot.
Right now after going to New York MaAfrika Tikkun employed me as the sports facilitator, I develop them cross motor skills in ECD by teaching jumping, balancing, running, kicking, throwing, eye and hand coordination and catching .
Future plans
My future plan is to study and farther my studies by doing sports management so I can improve the level of sports in Orange farm and assign same of the players in to PSL.
Please support me in this awesome challenge!

Afrika Tikkun

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
