#PassionInMotion: Reaching our Flamenco Dancing Dreams

"We dream of spreading our love for Spanish Dance and Flamenco throughout South Africa. Our hope is that our performances inspire audiences, fostering a new generation of passionate dancers nationwide."

Meet Marilie and Monique, dedicated dancers with a combined 30 years of experience in Spanish Dance. Since 2015, they've been an integral part of a local Spanish Dance Company and are proud members of the Spanish Dance Society in South Africa, where they received their syllabus training from a young age. Fueled by their deep love and passion for the art form, Marilie and Monique are committed to continuous growth and learning.

Each year, the Spanish town of Jerez de la Frontera hosts the renowned Festival de Jerez, a celebration of all things Spanish Dance. This festival, occurring from February 23rd to March 9th, 2024, attracts some of the world's top teachers who conduct various dance workshops. For those seeking the raw essence of Flamenco, Festival de Jerez is the ultimate destination.

To enhance their skills and refine their artistic style, Marilie and Monique aspire to attend this festival for a transformative week of workshops. The knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during this period will be invaluable, not only for their personal development but also for inspiring and educating younger dancers in South Africa.

In pursuit of this dream, we are reaching out for support to raise funds for their participation in as many workshops as possible. Travel costs have surged significantly, and all funds raised will cover the course fees for the week, with any surplus contributing to their travel expenses to and from Spain. Your contribution, regardless of its size, will play a crucial role in helping these talented ladies achieve their career aspirations as Spanish Dancers. Additionally, this journey marks Marilie's first international travel, adding an extra layer of excitement to this endeavour, which has been her dream for over 10 years.
