Having passed matric with seven distinctions, 18-year-old Makanaka Muzuva from Joe Slovo Park informal settlement near Dunoon in Cape Town has her heart set on studying chemical engineering at the University of Cape Town this year and have already been accepted at UCT University.

 

Despite her exceptional achievements Makanaka will not be able to reach her dream as she does not have the funds to pursue her dream to become a Chemical Engineer. Makanaka’s biggest dream is to provide for her family living in poverty. 

 

This matriculant student has been studying on a single bed in a township house and was stil able to matriculate with seven distinctions. Her hard work paid off and now she is reaching out to the community for assistance.
