Greetings,

My name is Madalitso Phakathi, and I've just finished my fifth year of Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand through the Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP). However, I face a critical challenge: the bursar who has supported me for the past three years won't be able to fund my final year of study, which is scheduled to start in January 2024.

Academic Achievement and Financial Hurdles

I've dedicated myself to this program, achieving recognition with the Golden Key award for ranking among the top 15% of my class. Despite this achievement, unforeseen circumstances have led to the unexpected withdrawal of my bursar's support, preventing me from registering for my last year of study.

Threat to My Medical School Journey

Hailing from a financially disadvantaged background, losing sponsorship puts my medical education in jeopardy. My parents can't afford the exorbitant fees, meaning I might not be able to complete my studies.

Pursuit of Funding Alternatives

I've explored various funding avenues, including loans and bursaries. However, due to the short notice, most application periods have closed. Therefore, any donation or the sharing of this post would be immensely appreciated.
