We trust this message finds you well. Today, we reach out to you with heavy hearts to share the profound and challenging journey Denice (24 years old) has been navigating for the past seven months.

Denice was recently diagnosed with Lyme Disease, a condition caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi, accompanied by co-infections of Babesia and Bartonella.

The journey to diagnosis has been arduous, involving numerous hospital visits, consultations with specialists, and a series of misdiagnoses. Despite the challenges, we are relieved to finally have a clear understanding of her condition and a recommended treatment plan.

The prescribed treatment is a specialized therapy known as Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT), a crucial step towards alleviating the agony Denice has been enduring. However, the cost of this treatment is R35,000, and this is just the beginning. As part of the ongoing battle against Lyme Disease, other medications are also needed. There is also a possibility that she may require another SOT treatment after six months, incurring an additional R35,000.

In light of the financial strain imposed by these medical expenses, we have decided to initiate a Back-a-Buddy campaign to seek assistance from friends, family, and compassionate individuals who may be willing to support Denice on this challenging journey.
