I have been dancing as long as I can remember! I recall having to make huge sacrifices in order to make dance a priority, because I never wanted to let my fellow dancers down!
My dream is to go to the Ballet Magnificat! Summer Dance Intensive in Jackson Mississippi.
It will require me losing 3 Academic weeks of my Matric year as next year I want to dedicate my time to studying as a Dance Teacher after school.
I believe that going to this prestigious Summer Dance Intensive will broaden my horizons, especially in leading young girls in a healthy and beneficial way in a very difficult environment. Dancers have many struggles, especially when it comes to self image. I want to equip myself to be a well rounded, and advanced technical Dance Teacher that will not only inspire the next generation of dancers, but will also help them to see the beauty that is within them, so that they can be strong, not just physically, but emotionally as well.
In raising these funds for the $3844 tuition as well as the flights, I will have the opportunity to grow myself not just in technique and repertoire, but also to a deeper spiritual level and understanding in my relationship with my Lord Jesus - to better understand my purpose and calling in this area of my life. I have endured many setbacks in the world of dance, not just physically through injuries, but also emotionally, in coming to terms of who I am. I see this workshop as an investment, not just in my life, but also in the lives of every single young girl I will be working with!
