My name is Lieze Roode, and I have recently been awarded PRO Status in the IFBB Professional League at my last competition. In the bodybuilding world earning your PRO status means that you have the potential to compete against the best of the best in the world. It gives you the opportunity to compete against other PRO athletes and making a career of it. To be awarded PRO status is any aspiring bodybuilder’s dream.

My journey started in 2013, deciding to do something about my health and appearance, I was not happy with myself at all. I saw a lady on a stepper one day, she had the most amazing body, I could not stop staring. I found out that she was a bodybuilder. It looked impossible to achieve something like that. Only in my dreams I thought. With that image in the back of my head I started getting more information on weight loss and training. I did not know where to start or even had competing in my mind. My mind was strong and I was very determined to make this work and not just start some fad diet that will leave me disappointed like all the times before. Slowly but surely my body started changing and I started getting compliments, still not even thinking of competing. We had a few athletes in our gym and as I got more comfortable I started interacting with more people and chatting to them planted a small seed, “maybe I should just give this a try” I started prepping for my first competition and competed for the first time in 2015. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, being able to get on the stage, something I never thought I would be able to do. I was hooked. Fast forward 8 years and I received PRO status at the end of 2023, something that was only a very big dream to me.

To be able to full fill this dream and achievement I will have to travel and compete internationally. I decided to take 2024 as my off season and improvement year and will look into competing internationally 2025.

I am looking to raise money to help me pay for the following:

* Flight tickets

* Accommodation

* Registration fees

* Bikini, Hair & makeup and tan

I decided to start raising money early seeing that every little bit helps, the competition dates for 2025 will only be available at the end of 2024/beginning 2025, I will only then be able to know exactly where and when and how much money will be needed.

During my journey I’ve met so many amazing people and so many people especially ladies reached out to me and are asking for help, advice and guidance with weight loss and getting into weight training. I love helping people and if my story can help someone or even just make them realise that anything is possible it will make it all even more worthwhile.
