Liesel and Stu are an integral part of our small Cape St Francis community of which I am a part. They both work hard to provide a great upbringing for their 2 boys - really hard. Liesel runs our local coffee shop and is everyone’s ‘angony aunt’
Always a friendly face, a contagious laugh and sound advice if you want it. Stu is an amazing carpenter - every job gets his personal touch from start to finish. There is hardly a house here which doesn’t have some of his expert carpentry work on it.
2023 did not end well for this family whom we all love. Stu was diagnosed with eye cancer and their son had a burst appendix with resulting complications. The hospital bill was astronomical putting their financial well-being in 2024 on really shaky ground.
Stu’s eye has not responded to chemo and he is in for huge further medical costs if he has a chance at beating this and saving his eye. His eyes are an integral part of his work and therefore hugely important for his ability to continue to pay to educate and raise his sons.
All in all 2024 is looking extremely bleak for this really simple living family. If we could raise some funds for them, the correct medical treatment can be obtained for Stu and the family can meet their 2024 education and living costs.
