As you may or may not know, coming 16 November 2014 is the 94.7 Cycle Challenge and for the first time ever I will attempt to ride this race. To be honest it will be my very first road cycle race. To top it all I will be doing it on a mountain bike. I will also be doing the 55km mountain bike challenge the week before on 9 November 2014 and I will be doing all of this for a purpose. My purpose is to raise as much funds as I can for a non-profit organisation called KIDS HAVEN. See their website at http://www.kidshaven.org.za/.

I have 2 wonderful daughters which is a gift from God and they are my world. I have learnt so much from them, but what is most important is how they are dependant on me and my wonderful wife to provide them with a safe home, food to eat and protection from society. We as a family is so blessed that I can indeed provide my 2 girls with what they need, but sadly this is not the case for lots of other children out there. These kids did not choose to come into this world, but they are here and for good reason as well. Fortunately a place like KIDS HAVEN takes these kids from the streets or broken families and provide them with meals, safe haven and education so they can grow into great human beings and once again become part of our society. They mend these broken souls!
