Full Spinal Fusion Correction Surgery

Dear friends, 

It's Lee here, and I'm reaching out to each of you with profound gratitude as well as a pressing sense of urgency. I sincerely hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits.

For the past six years, I've been grappling with scoliosis, a condition that has tested my resilience and resolve. In 2018, I underwent my first major surgery (full spinal fusion 1), a daunting experience that marked the beginning of a challenging journey. Then, in 2020, I faced a second surgery (full spinal fusion 2), confronting the unknown with courage and determination that hopefully it'd be the last.

Recently, a setback occurred when one of the rods supporting my spine snapped, and last disc (L5) slipped 2cm off tailbone (S1), plunging me into a world of constant/ hopeless pain. Despite this setback, I've been tirelessly seeking treatment across vast borders, from the landscapes of Europe to my home of South Africa.

Although these surgeries have straightened my spine, the road to recovery has been anything but smooth, infact-- recovery at all has yet to show it's face. Living with a broken rod and a slipped disc is an everyday struggle, with every hour in every day day serving as a reminder of the challenges I am burdened with/ obligated to carry.

As I stand on the brink of yet another surgical intervention, I'm confronted with a daunting reality: the financial burden that accompanies such an advanced medical treatment.

The cost of these procedures has placed an immense strain on my resources, leaving me grappling with uncertainty and anxiety of this unforgiving lifestyle.

Navigating the complexities of healthcare accessibility has been a humbling experience, highlighting the stark disparities that exist within our society. Yet, in the face of adversity, I find solace in the unwavering support of friends and loved ones.

That's why I'm turning to you, dear friends, in this time of need. Your compassion and generosity have the power to make a tangible difference in my journey towards healing and recovery.
