Personal message

I am a refugee in South Africa and a recent graduate of the University of Witwatersrand, where I completed a MA Degree in Migration and Displacement. I have also received academic training in anthropology, sociology, curatorship (art history) and criminal justice. I have been accepted for a PhD in Sociology (2024), University of Johannesburg. Although I have been granted a Supervisor Linked Bursary, the PhD registration requires an upfront payment of R5 560.00. I am currently a part-time tutor but struggling to make ends meet and fulfil my financial obligations.  The PhD is the next step in my academic journey in sharpening my skills in arears I am passionate about i.e.  research, teaching and academic writing. I am eager to demonstrate my gratitude by working hard to achieve my goals and make a positive impact in my community. With your support, I am confident that I can overcome this financial obstacle and pursue my love for academia.
