Scammed on a car

Hi everyone!
My best friend of 16 years has recently been scammed buying a new car with the insurance money she was paid out due to an accident. It all seemed like a legit company; her husband, father and I all looked at everything. Today we found out it was a frequent scam from the area of Klerksdorp.
Please, she is a primary school teacher with a baby boy who suffers from a rare genetic condition, she was just hoping for a reliable family vehicle to get her to school and her son to hospital stays. I am not asking for a brand new, latest model vehicle, just the money she lost due to these people.
We do have a police case open in our local area and I am working with a few people to try and bring this specific ring down, but the bank has said the money cannot be reversed because the perps have already spent it.
Please help the most wonderful, and caring woman I’ve known outside my blood relation to get her safe, family car!
