27 OCTOBER 2018 ! The Madswimmers are doing it again!

At its height, in the 14th century, Kilwa Kisiwani was the single most important trading centre on the East African coast and its ruins include a number of mosques, a well-preserved Omani fortress, graves, and the remnants of a Great Palace that was, in its day, the largest permanent building in sub-Saharan Africa.

The swim is approximately 24km, starting at Songa Manara headland, crossing Kilwa Bay towards the North West, and finishing at the Kisiwani Ruins. Depending on conditions, the swim should take 7-9 hours

We will be supporting a few local charities on our platform. Please support this worthy cause benefiting and uplifting children in need!
