Personal message

Hi! My name is Emma Stein, and I am a medical student at the University of the Witwatersrand.

This year, I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro together with a group of Wits Health Science students as part of the Wits Surgical Society Kilimanjaro Challenge '23. 

As a group, we aim to raise a minimum of R500 000 to sponsor an entire Smile Week for the Smile Foundation, where the lives of up to 45 children with facial abnormalities will be changed forever. 

The Smile Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a holistic healthcare vision for children with any type of facial condition. The Smile Foundation, together with South Africa’s Academic Hospitals, works to put the smile back onto children’s faces with corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery and treatments at no charge to the child and their family.

As such, I encourage you to please support this incredible organisation and help us gift these children with their smiles. All donations, no matter the amount, will be greatly appreciated and will contribute towards a truly worthy cause.
