Kiki Swims Dead Sea for Madswimmer

On the 15th November 2016, I will be joining Madswimmer and an Israeli team to swim across the widest portion of the Dead Sea, 16 km, from Jordan to Israel. When I first heard about the swim, I didn’t think about the high salt content of the sea, the warm temperature, the viscosity of the water... all I thought about was I am Jewish, South African and I get to swim across the Dead Sea to Israel... what a privilege...
The swim is being organised by EcoPeace Middle East, a regional organisation, that aims to make people aware that the Dead Sea is in crisis and needs urgent and sustainable solutions. The swim is aimed to benefit many people, in the Dead Sea region as well as in South Africa. Funds raised by Madswimmer will go to underprivileged children in South Africa. They support eleven different organisations.
It is a privilege for me to be part of the Madswimmer initiative. I get to do what I love... swim... and I get to challenge myself... and at the same time I get to raise awareness of a place I love dearly and I also get to help children in South Africa, to fulfil l their dreams and give them hope for a better future.
If you would like to make a difference to the lives of many children and raise awareness of the Dead Sea and its surrounds, please help me raise money by making a donation. It will change your life and that of someone else... there is no greater mitzvah.

Madswimmer is a registered non-profit company consisting of individuals involved with daring open water swims to raise funds for children’s charities. They are established businessmen and women in their own right, but also do these extreme, adventurous swims.
