Personal message

At the end of September 2017 I will be undertaking the biggest physical challenge of my life to date when I set out to climb Mount Kilimanjao in Tanzania.  As I am sure you know, at 19,341 ft high, Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain and I will be attempting to climb it with a group of friends to raise funds for the Sandton Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), an outstanding dog welfare charity based in Johannesburg.

I would be delighted if you were prepared to support the excellent work the Sandton SPCA does by sponsoring our climb.  I know that your contribution would be hugely valued and very well used both to alleviate distress for many dogs  in desperate need and to increase awareness of the critical importance of animal welfare in the Johannesburg area more generally.

If you would like to find out more information on the climb itself you can visit our facebook page at www.facebook.com/2017SPCAkilichallenge or about the Sandton SPCA more generally on its general website at www.sandtonspca.org.za

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

The Sandton SPCA prevents cruelty, alleviates the suffering of animals and promotes kindness as set out in the Five Freedoms.
  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
  2. Freedom from pain, injury and disease
  3. Freedom from distress
  4. Freedom from discomfort
  5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being
Animal abuse and neglect is something that can only be countered through education, pet care training and youth enrichment at a grass roots level.  Our Inspectorate and Education team work tirelessly to promote positive attitudes such as compassion, empathy and respect for all life through education and outreach programmes.
