Personal message

My name is Keith Johnson and I am dedicating my first ever Cape Town Cycle tour to raising funds for "The Recovery Foundation".

I am not a cyclist but I have a good sense of humour and enjoy being able to take part in new challenges.

Being able to participate in the cycle tour is for me a celebration of so many things. Physical and mental health, freedom to invest in my own adventure, being part of a community and the ability to make a difference in it.

It is also a stark reminder of those who live without these privileges. People who are trapped in a stigmatizing and life threatening cycle of addiction. I am one of the fortunate ones to have escaped the clutches of this disease. I know that recovery is possible. I also know that getting the kind of help necessary is not always available to those without means.
