Hello, my name is Karen, and I am a 65-year-old pensioner with no family. I reside with my six cats, who are my closest companions. Classified as medically and mentally disabled by my medical aid, I manage various chronic conditions that require monthly medications, a routine I've maintained for years. Unfortunately, due to financial troubles and being deceived out of my remaining funds, I am on the verge of losing my medical aid. I am currently five months behind, with monthly contributions just under R1000.

Losing this medical aid is particularly concerning as I no longer have a car, and accessing government facilities on the other side of town without transport poses significant challenges and expenses. I've reached out to my medical aid, pleading for assistance, but they've conveyed that unless I catch up by January, the coverage will be canceled.

I implore anyone who can contribute to help me maintain this vital medical aid. Losing it would not only complicate my access to essential medications but also create major withdrawals.
