Personal message

My name is Liezl Oberholster, and I'm reaching out to you on behalf of my mother, Karen.

On a fateful Saturday, February 10, 2024, our lives took a sudden turn when my mom collapsed at home. We rushed her to Parklands Private Hospital, counting on her medical aid to provide the necessary support. However, to our dismay, we've just been informed that her medical coverage is very basic and won't cover the crucial CT Scan or the MRI she desperately needs. The MRI alone carries a hefty price tag of R13,000.

We're still awaiting news on whether the Heart Sonar or Doppler procedures will be covered.

The doctor's diagnosis revealed that the collapse was triggered by TIA, a condition caused by a blood clot in the brain. The MRI is deemed essential for understanding and addressing her condition effectively.

In light of these circumstances, we are humbly seeking financial assistance to ensure that my mother receives the comprehensive treatment she urgently requires.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this challenging time.

My name is Liezl Oberholster and I am Karen's daughter.

On Saturday 10 February 2024 my mom collapsed at home. We took her to Parklands Private Hospital as she does have a medical aid. Her medical aid is a very basic medical and we have just received the news that the medical aid will not be paying for the CT Scan or the MRI. The MRI cost alone is R13 000.  We don't know about the Heart Sonar or Dopler yet.

The doctor said that the collapse was caused by TIA, which is a blood clot in the brain and the MRI is very important.

We are seeking financial assistance in order for her to get all the treatment that she needs.
