Personal message

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Juliet has decided to run the Cape Town Marathon on Sunday 27th September.  Whilst she is undoubtedly crazy, she also has a heart of gold and is therefore looking to use this event as an opportunity to raise funds for the Afrika Tikkun - the acceleration Social Initiative.

Afrika Tikkun run 6 Community support centers across South Africa and have offices in the UK, North America and Australia where they coordinate various activities to raise funds.

You can support Jules by sponsoring an amount for each of the 42.2km she completes (she will need the encouragement to keep going after 30km).  Any amount, large or small will make a difference to the communities served by Afrika Tikkun.

Open your hearts.  Be Kind.  Be Generous.  And bring Jules coffee at her desk the day after the race - she probably won't be too excited about moving around more than strictly necessary.

Afrika Tikkun

Charity Default Logo

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
