Hello Everyone

The London Marathon is the largest annual fundraising event on the planet; I am running the Marathon this year and as well as it being a great personal challenge for me, I would like to use it as an opportunity to raise money for a local South African cause that both saddens me and inspires me to get involved.

My Charity

It is one of the saddest facts of living in South Africa that we have one of the worst records of rape in the world and it is an even more shameful fact that too many of these appalling crimes are committed against children.

While I have limited ability, as an individual, to bring about the changes that are so desperately needed in our society to tackle these crimes, I do have the ability to raise money to support an organization that brings support, safety and love to children who have been abused.

Please read about the Teddy Bear Clinic and dig deep and help me raise money for this worthwhile charity that brings much needed support in an abused child’s hour of need. It will make me incredibly proud to run for the Teddy Bear Clinic, but it will make me even prouder to hand over a sizable donation that will bring relief and hopefully happiness again to children who are suffering

The Teddy Bear Foundation

The Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children (TTBC) originated in 1986 in response to an urgent need for medical examinations for sexually abused children. From there it has grown into a fully fledged service for abused children which includes: Forensic medical examinations, forensic assessments, counseling, psychological testing and more recently a diversion programme for youth sexual offenders. As an NGO, our concern is not only to support children and families affected by abuse but also to promote: “CHILD ABUSE NO MORE”.
