Hi Guys

My wife's uncle, Johan, is in need of some serious help.

8 years ago he was diagnosed with Beurgers disease which is a disease that attacks the blood vessels in the body, most commonly the legs and arms. This causes the blood vessels to swell which prevents blood flow which causes clots and can lead to loss of limbs.

Johan cut open his toe which over time just did not want to heal, doctors at a government hospital came to the conclusion that the infection had spread to far.

 

They said they would need to amputate his foot but when he woke up they had amputated his leg past the knee.

 

2 weeks later it had spread into the other leg and that leg to had to be amputated. 

A few years on he developed the disease in his index finger and that was then also amputated.

Over the Christmas period he spent December with the family, he got a cut on his middle finger in which it did not want to heal properly. Since then it has not come right and he has been to doctors again and their diagnosis was to remove his middle finger as it had developed the same disease.

We as a family would like to help him by taking him to a proper rheumatologist, receive blood tests, get medicine and try see if the second opinion can save his finger and give him a new lease at life.

Johan stays on a farm in Potchefstroom and is currently on a disability grant.

We are appealing to our family and friends if you could spare a few rands to make this possible.
