Personal message

Kev will be running and juggling three balls the entire 21.1km of the Wally Hayward half marathon in Centurion on 1st May 2014.

In 2009 Kev had an accident by falling down some stairs, cracking his skull resulting in severe brain injury. Kev was put into an induced coma for a good few weeks to reduce the brain swelling and for the skull fracture to heal. When he woke up he was unable to communicate. Time and care was on his side and Kev gradually re-learnt to speak. With the support from family and friends and the help from Headway, Kev gradually returned to a normal life.

Kev is eternally grateful for the recovery he has achieved with the assistance from Headway and we would like to inspire family and friends of others who have Acquired Brain Injury, to realise that recovery, may be a long road, but is attainable.

Kevin has recently raised a large amount of money for Headway UK and would like to raise funds for Headway Gauteng.

Please read Kev's story and see his English TV interviews on his web page: www.jogglathon.co.uk  and can be followed on twitter: @jogglathon

We ask for your support to assist raising funds for Headway Gauteng, who can help anyone suffering brain injury.

Thank you.

Headway Gauteng (The Brain Injury Association)

Charity Default Logo

Headway Gauteng is a registered charity organisation dedicated to offering various support programmes to survivors of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their families.

The vast majority of our injured members have sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident, sporting accident or assault. We also assist survivors of acquired brian injuries such as stroke or tumour. These people have led a full life up until the brain injury, which has caused permanent changes to physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioural processes.
