This request is on behalf of our swimming club parents.

We urgently reach out to you on behalf of an extraordinary individual, Jarod Goosen, who has dedicated his time to training and mentoring our young swimmers. Unfortunately, Jarod and his friend recently became victims of a brutal assault, an incident in which they were completely innocent.

The assault resulted in multiple fractures, and Jarod was admitted to the casualty ward where his arm and hand were placed in a cast.

Regrettably, after the removal of the cast, it was discovered that the fractures have not healed as anticipated. Beyond the physical trauma, the emotional toll on Jarod's mental well-being has been substantial. In light of these challenges, we are initiating a crowdfunding campaign to facilitate both his physical and emotional recovery.

Despite Jarod's unwavering commitment to his swimmers, he currently lacks the financial means to access the necessary treatment. He has been advised to seek assistance from a State Hospital. As parents of the young swimmers he coaches, we have secured the support of an exceptional Orthopedic surgeon willing to perform the extensive surgery required. However, the associated hospital costs pose a significant obstacle.

Your contribution to this initiative will not only address Jarod's physical injuries but also provide vital support to a remarkable coach on his journey to healing. This assistance will enable him to continue positively influencing the lives of aspiring swimmers, ensuring they reach their full potential.

Despite his physical pain and mental struggles, Jarod continues to inspire by pushing his young swimmers to achieve their best for the upcoming Regional, Provincial, and National swimming galas. His coaching approach is characterised by admiration and genuine care for each child under his guidance.
