Personal message
James has been a student of Liam Burden of the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre in Parow, Cape Town since the age of 9.
James is a dedicated and conscientious student. He received 2nd place and the silver medal at the Hubert van der Spuy National Music Competition in 2019. For this outstanding achievement, James was subsequently awarded student of the year from the Music Centre. James went on to win the senior woodwind category of the Johan Vos Music Competition in 2023. He is a member of the celebrated Hugo Lambrechts Saxophone Quartet which performed with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in 2023.
James plans on studying music at Stellenbosch University in 2025.
His current student saxophone is no longer suitable to allow him to further his studies. A professional saxophone is needed at this level.
Funds raised will be used to purchase a professional "Yanagisawa AWO10" saxophone currently retailing at R76500 through Marshall Music.
