Hello Everyone
We are a club of speed skates based in Lentegeur, Mitchell's Plain.
We have many people who have dedicated themselves to assisting the skating community in Mitchell's Plain, particularly in the Lentegeur area. However, we have come to the point where we need to reach out a bit further.
We will be participating in Nationals for Rollersport South Africa on 22nd March 2024. This gives us an opportunity to partake in activities which are not drug, crime or gang related.
Another important element to note is that this will be our only chance at delivering our talent to the public with the hope that we can go further in the sport and hopefully create a career from the sport in the future.
We have previously participated in the Nationals in Hammanskraal and after receiving our medals, our hearts were truly warm with gratitude and pride.
With that being said, Nationals with Rollersport South Africa is coming up in Hammanskraal.
The financial challenges that we are faced with in the community- unemployment and other circumstances have become a challenge and is holding us back. With this in mind, travelling costs, accommodation and ticket costs will be very difficult to cover for the 4 children that will attend the competition.
If we are unable to raise these funds, we will not be able to attend and participate in the competition.
Attending Nationals again will be an absolute dream come true for us. To be a part of this competition can help us establish where we are at in the sport and how it can take us into a potential career linked to the sport.
The expenses that will be incurred for the trip includes return bus tickets, accomodation and meals.
Each of us require approximately R2000.00 which will be inclusive of all the above mentioned expenses.
Please assist us with any means, big or small. We appreciate financial donations or even just sharing this plea across your social media platforms.
This opportunity is a stepping stone for us to the possibility of a better life and future.
