INTELICHEM IS CLIMBING 5 895 METERS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The Emergency Centre at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital is the only dedicated children’s emergency unit in South Africa and is children's best hope of surviving acute injuries or other potentially life-threatening medical conditions. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the primary function of this area is to provide high quality, evidence-based medical, surgical, nursing and paramedical services to the thousands of children needing access to emergency and acute services. A child and user-friendly environment is critical to maintaining the high standard of care needed to minimise hospitalisation and facilitate the child’s early return to their family.
To ensure that more children receive the best possible life-saving care and to improve their chances of recovery and rehabilitation, the Children's Hospital Trust has launched a project to upgrade and expand the Emergency Centre. Designed in partnership with the EC Clinical team, improvements will include an upgrade of medical resuscitation and trauma areas, and an increase in the number of consultation and procedure rooms. The project will also add new areas to the centre, including a burns room, a calm room, a child protection room and family friendly waiting areas.
THE INTELICHEM GROUP WOULD LIKE TO ASSIST THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TRUST IN RAISING FUNDS FOR UPGRADING AND EXPANDING THE RED CROSS CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL'S EMERGENCY CENTRE.
A group of InteliChem leaders will climb Kilimanjaro in January 2020 to raise much needed funds to upgrade and expand the Red Cross Children's Hospital's Emergency Centre. Every cent of the funds raised by the Group will be donated to the Emergency Centre.
Help InteliChem make a difference by donating to this exciting project. For donations or inquiries please contact Tanja Potgieter ([email protected]) or Marthie Maritz ([email protected]).

The Children's Hospital Trust

A hospital dedicated entirely to children – especially children predominantly from impoverished communities throughout Africa – is critically important. So important, that it needs a champion to make sure that it’s able to keep doing the phenomenal work it does.
That champion is the Children’s Hospital Trust.
