Personal message

Greetings, Friends of the Kolisi Foundation,

I trust you're all well.

I am turning 34 on March 16th, and as a mental health advocate, I wish to celebrate this coming of age with an R3400 (or more) therapy voucher to someone who desperately needs a kick-start to their Healing journey.

I am currently in the process of developing a mental health app and am also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Coach.

NLP uses meta-tools to assist people in unlocking their internal dialogue but using language to understand better and contextualise their past experiences and memory and how these affect their behavioural patterns and interaction with people and the world.

I have been undergoing therapy for over a decade to deal with childhood trauma. My ability to connect the dots of my story and find a semblance of contentment was due to my ability to communicate.

But validating your voice when your life story has relegated you to a disempowered and insecure individual is daunting. The inability to find the words to articulate what happened to you makes the Healing journey debilitating. We also know that access to quality and effective psychiatric and psychological interventions is a financial burden for many people.

This donation is inspired by my desire to gift someone with an opportunity to see a professional who can assist them with tools to start re-imagining their life in ways that transcend the negative scripts that haunt them.

Charity Default Logo

The Kolisi Foundation was founded by Siya and Rachel Kolisi with a vision to change narratives of inequality in South Africa. By working alongside others, adding our story to the stories of communities and individuals who are changing the world. By “remembering the one, one by one” we will impact the nation.

What we do?

The Kolisi Foundation seeks to support people living in under-resourced communities in South Africa, by providing relief resources, facilitating capacity-building and horizontal learning exchanges, and mobilizing and advocating for systemic change.

The Kolisi Foundation's mission is shaped around the following three programmatic areas: Food Security, Gender-Based Violence, and Education and Sports Development.
