IT TAKES R58000 TO TRAIN A GUIDE DOG!
Taking the road less travelled for 3 days, on a mountain bike, through the mountains, valleys, farms and roads crisscrossing KZN – from Sani to Scottburgh. The men are off! Wednesday 10th May 2017 our "Ride for Blind" Teams will be taking off for 3 days of mountain biking.
SANI2C... is a 3-Day mountain biking adventure that starts on Sani Pass and end in Scottburgh after 263km of grueling single track, farm roads, steep mountains, and tight descents into valleys traversing the magnificent KZN countryside. This is not a race for sissies, and the teams have been in full training mode since the end of 2016 to be fighting ready for their start on 10th May 2017.
SA GUIDE DOGS....Every dog has its day, and no better charity to support than South African Guide Dogs Association.
Ever closed your eyes to try and see what it is like to be blind? Ever woken up in the pitch dark and struggled to find your way around? Ever played a game where you were blindfolded and had to follow instructions? Well life for some is not a game, and the life of a visually impaired person is made that much easier when they are supported by a trained guide dog to enhance their mobility and independence.
Our 2 Teams will be supporting a charity and need your sponsorship assistance… EVERY PENNY COUNTS as they say, so please donate generously to this incredible charity.
Our goal is to raise R58000 - what it costs to train a guide dog - let's make it happen!!!!

SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind

Since 1953, South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind (GDA) has strived to expand its offerings to the differently-abled community of Southern Africa, extending beyond Guide Dogs to include Service Dogs for people who are physically impaired, Autism Support Dogs for children with autism, and the College of Orientation & Mobility, whose Orientation & Mobility (O&M) practitioners teach people who are visually impaired to continue their lives in a safe and efficient manner and how to use a long cane as a mobility aid.
