My name is Loraine and I am the Social Worker for The Character Company. This year The Character Company has a team of 5 boys riding the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge as a 5 Values Team and I have decided to be one of the Hero Riders that will support them on their journey, on the road, by cycling with them. The news is filled with horrible stories of men behaving badly so I feel so blessed to be part of a team that support young boys that stand up for what is right and ride for their 5 values.
I am hoping that you will join me in this initiative by supporting me and helping me to raise my fundraising target. This will provide The Character Company with the necessary resources to take these amazing young men on our year end camp. The Character Company is a long term mentorship programme for young boys growing up with absent fathers - raising boys to be good men. Other than the weekly and monthly programmes, holiday camps and “one-on-one” intervention we also focus on support for single mothers and raising awareness of the impact of absent fathers on our families and society.
