Personal message

My name is Elané, I am starting this campaign for my brother Hendrik, who was diagnosed with a rare disease in 2019, called Alport syndrome.

From 2019 up until now, my brother is suffering tremendously, financially, mentally, and physically. He lost everything . His body is taking a toll and he is in need of a kidney as soon as possible, but unfortunately as it is, he is a government patient and do not have access to private care or management of his illness. If anyone is willing to help as a donor, it would give my brother a fighting chance and let him have a normal life again.

He was only still a very young man, when he heard about his illness, in the prime of his life. He was learning to be a boilermaker but had to give that up, now he is just to tired and depleted of energy and needs to give himself peritoneal dialysis every 6 hours and on a whole list of medications.

Then there is the issue that he is dependent on his fiance as he is not able to help her with anything. Our parents passed away a few years ago, and I am not a suitable donor, nor do I alone also have the funds to help my little brother.

He is only 27 and O-negative blood group, and if you can't help as a donor, a little bit of money can go along way if we all just pitch in to help a young man, that once had dreams to start and believe in those dreams again and put his nightmare to bed.

Any donation will help not only towards the search for a kidney but also to help him with basic everyday needs, and to put less strain on him and his fiance.
