Urgent Appeal: Help Save Willow's Leg!

Dear Cat Lovers and Kind Hearts,

We come to you with a plea for help and support for our dear feline friend, Willow. Willow's world turned upside down during Diwali when a traumatic incident left her with a broken leg. Despite initial efforts, the leg failed to heal properly after eight weeks, and now Willow faces the heart-wrenching choice between an expensive surgery and the possibility of amputation.

Willow has been a resilient and loving girl throughout her ordeal, but her pain is evident. We are determined to do everything in our power to save her leg and provide her with the quality of life she truly deserves. It would be difficult to find her a home as an amputee, and she deserves a chance at a happy indoor cat life, with the perfect family at arms reach that will dote on her every whim.

 Willow's Journey So Far:

Willow was left behind, and her family is battling in a new country to bring her over. The carer she was left with is not in a position to care for Willow, and we thought it best to take ownership of Willow and find her a better chance at a happy life. Unfortunately, Willow suffered a broken leg during Diwali, a festival meant to bring joy. Despite immediate care, her leg healed poorly over eight weeks. Willow is now at a crucial crossroads, facing the need for an expensive surgical intervention or the risk of amputation.

 The Reality of Willow's Situation:

The financial burden of Willow's needed surgery is substantial, and we find ourselves reaching out to our compassionate cat lovers and supporters for assistance. No matter how small, every donation will contribute to Willow's chance at a pain-free and happy life.

Why not just amputate her leg?:

We have looked at the possible life without a front leg, and this would be our very last resort to save her life. Willow can have her leg amputated, but there are many reasons why a cat needs their front legs.

Balance and Mobility: Cats are incredibly agile and rely on all four legs for balance and efficient movement. Losing one front leg can significantly impact their ability to navigate their environment, jump, climb, and perform other activities that contribute to their overall well-being. Have you seen a cat use the litter box with one leg, it's impossible, from what comes naturally, to cover their business.

Adaptability: Cats are known for their remarkable adaptability, and they can often adjust to various physical challenges. Keeping both front legs allows them to adapt more effectively, utilizing their instincts and behaviors.

Independence: Cats are independent animals whose front legs play a crucial role in their daily activities, from grooming to hunting. Both front legs enable them to maintain independence and perform essential self-care tasks. Even something as simple as clawing the scratch pad is impossible.

Mental Well-being: Cats derive comfort and security from their physical abilities. Maintaining both front legs helps preserve their mental well-being by allowing them to engage in natural behaviours and activities without constant physical limitations.

Reduced Strain on Other Limbs: Amputating one front leg can place additional strain on the remaining limbs, potentially leading to issues such as arthritis or discomfort over time. Preserving both front legs helps distribute the cat's weight evenly and reduces the risk of developing compensatory issues.

While amputation may be necessary in certain cases due to severe injury or medical conditions, it is typically considered a last resort. Veterinary professionals carefully evaluate each situation to preserve as much functionality as possible.

 How You Can Help:

Donate: Your contribution will directly fund Willow's much-needed surgery; she is scheduled to be admitted on Monday to Hillcrest Veterinary Hospital, where Dr Inke Helm will be performing her much-needed surgery. Attached are HVH banking details

Share: Spread Willow's story far and wide. Your voice has the power to reach others who may be willing to help.

Pray and Send Positive Vibes: Your thoughts and well wishes mean the world to Willow and those working tirelessly to save her leg.

We understand that times are challenging for everyone, and we are especially under a lot of pressure ourselves as we pick up the bill for most cases ourselves. We cannot continue to help or do what we do without public support. We are immensely grateful for any support you can offer.

Willow's resilience has touched our hearts, and with your help, we can give her the second chance she so desperately needs.

Let's rally together and be the light that guides Willow to a pain-free tomorrow.

With heartfelt gratitude,
