Personal message

My name is Eugenie and I have entered the 94.7 Cycle Challenge in order to raise awareness and funds for children diagnosed with cancer. 

I am not the sporty one in my family but I got into cycling when my dad was diagnosed with brain cancer. He loved to run and cycle and he did not just want to give up on his hobby. 

So we took to the streets almost every day until it was just not possible for him anymore. Even though he was the one battling cancer he kept me motivated kilometre after kilometre. His strength and resilience is what still keeps me moving.

I would now like to put his love for sport to good use by participating in this event to help  raise funds for this amazing cause. Another one of my goals is to create awareness for early detection as this can not just save lives but it can also buy you precious weeks, months or years and out of experience I know that nothing can replace time.

The funds that are raised will be donated to Rainbows and Smiles! They are an amazing organisation that focuses on providing support to families and caregivers of children diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. Thank you for coming on this adventure with me. As these kids are forced to battle through every single one of their own limits so too can we push ourselves to show them that they are  not alone in this.
