Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

It was undoubtedly one of the hardest comrades marathons I have ever run, but there is no doubt that the incredible support and generosity shown by everyone carried me to the finish.
Battling with nausea from the early stages of the race I was bent over hurling my heart out at about 16kms to go and I looked up to see a CHOC banner with a crowd of supporters, what an inspiration. That was a clear indication that I had no choice but to finish. I reached the top of Polly Shorts with 8km's to do in 56 minutes. A tough ask after just on 80km's. With the committment to finishing this year's comrades knowing that the children of CHOC would be benefitting, I had to dig deep and run. I beat the gun with a time of 11h59m34s.
Thank you all for the support and generosity you have shown for the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation they are really the true winners in the end.
Together with the donations directly to CHOC we have raised R17199 to date, this page will stay open to see if we can get to that target of R25000.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is the only organisation in South Africa that provides comprehensive countrywide support for children with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders, and their families. CHOC has a head office in Johannesburg, six regional offices, two branches, and 12 accommodation facilities close to treatment centres. CHOC relies heavily on corporate sponsors, donations from groups or individuals wanting to make a difference in the lives of these little ones.
Their comprehensive support improves the welfare and quality of care of children with cancer and offers families a wide range of psychosocial services and practical support such as counselling, free accommodation, free transport and transport fund to ensure that no child abandons treatment due to the family not affording transport costs, food parcels as they recognise the financial difficulties families often face and parent to parent support groups. CHOC also plays a leading advocacy role and promotes early detection to save lives nationally.
