Help a Beloved Family

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I write to you today with a plea for urgent support for a cherished family in our midst. My dear friends of almost three decades, Dominique and her husband James, along with their two beautiful daughters Amaya & Layla, are facing a crisis that threatens to upend their lives.

Dominique is not just a friend; she is my chosen sister. We've shared nearly 30 years of laughter, tears, and cherished memories. Her bond with James and their daughters reflects some of the most caring and wonderful people I've ever had the privilege to know.

Despite overcoming significant hurdles, including a lengthy battle for James's working visa, their journey is far from over. The financial strain of these challenges, compounded by funds being stuck in Egypt for over two years, has left them teetering on the edge of losing their home and struggling to make ends meet. Dominique, as the sole breadwinner, is stretched thin, and the burden weighs heavily on their family's shoulders.

Adding to their plight, they've received an eviction notice, adding to the urgency of their situation. Furthermore, Dominique is burdened with R40,000 in medical bills from her recent high-risk pregnancy, further exacerbating their financial strain.

Throughout this ordeal, James has shown incredible resilience, attempting to work as much as possible within the constraints of his visa. Yet, the financial hardships persist, threatening their stability and future. Despite these challenges, James is actively pursuing several prospective job opportunities and is working tirelessly to secure stable employment for the family to help ease the burden from Dominique.

Their story is one of resilience, love, and unwavering determination. Together, they've built a home here, enriching our community with their presence and generosity.
