DEPRESSED CAKE SHOP pops up around the globe, selling sweet treats designed to create conversation about mental health. The grey symbolises the dark cloud that depression casts on the sufferer and the pop of colour is to show the beauty that awaits once people receive treatment and support.
Proceeds from the sale of these grey sweet treats are donated to local charities working to end the stigma around mental illness. In the case of SA, these proceeds will go to the South African Depression and Anxiety Group.
I invite all bakers to get creative, sell or auction off the goodies and contribute to this initiative.
