I dare you dad . . .!

Being the proud father to my son, Jordan, who diagnosed with Leukaemia in January 2020 (ALL B Cell, PH positive), a whole new world opened our eyes to the scary reality of Childhood cancer.

Jordan is currently on day 920 of his treatment and will have to endure this until next year August 2023. Our family live each day feeling blessed, grateful, thankful and appreciate every second to have managed to reach this far in his treatment. Jordan still has a long road ahead, but we take it one day at a time.

From the time that Jordan was diagnosed up until now I have neglected myself, gotten fat, lazy and of course super unfit. I’ll just blame it on the Hospital food, not takeaways – LOL  Recently Jordan asked me when I will be running the Comrades Marathon again. With only 140 days till the ultimate human race guess what dad does? I ENTER! Let’s just say it’s going to HURT!!!!

To all my fellow Comrades runners, we only have to endure the pain for a maximum of 12 hours, this is nothing compared to what these children fighting cancer endure for years and months on end.

So, I dedicate going from Zero to hopefully my sons Hero. To every little HERO who has gone through this journey winning or losing their battle, YOU are the true superheroes and inspire me daily. Ever step I take will be in remembrance of you all.
