Personal message
This will be my first run for Rainbows and Smiles as an Oncology parent. Always a soft spot for Kids in 2019 I figured I’ll run Comrades for Rainbows as I couldnt think of a better reason.
Little did I know 2019 Comrades would be my last (Running Race) as my son aged 8 was diagnosed with Leukaemia a few months later. One of the first communications I received was from Rainbows and to add an awesome present for Jordan.
Covid and Cancer of any type make it so incredibly hard on the Kids, and organisations, In these already difficult times.
Having a first-hand Experience of what these Little Heros go through daily, I am willing and going to suffer for a short period, in aid to raise Much needed funds for Rainbows, to keep putting smiles on those faces.

The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child or children of that family is diagnosed with a life threatening illness such as cancer. In addition, Rainbows and Smiles encourage childhood cancer awareness to educate in the hope of promoting early detection.
