Personal message

For me, Midmar Mile is its unique challenge in itself. What seems like a straightforward swim across the dam often tends to throw in a few challenges along the way. 
 
There have been a few people close to me that have battled cancer and have beaten that challenge. My goal is to swim to raise further awareness of childhood cancer and to honour those who have fought and beaten cancer, those opposing it and those who sadly didn’t make it. 
 
No matter what challenges life throw in your path, keep fighting. I have chosen to swim for Rainbows and Smile because I am blessed to be able to do so, and one small act of kindness and determination can be that inspiration that can change the course of someone’s life. 

Supporting such an organisation can only bring goodness to peoples lives. “ No matter what life throws at you, declare you will never surrender until you rise from it.
