Personal message
I will be cycling the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2019 with the Salesian Life Choices (SLC) team to raise funds for young people from the low-resourced communities of the Cape Flats to support their tertiary level studies. Some of the Alumni from Leaders’ Quest (an intervention of SLC) struggles to support themselves while pursuing tertiary education. Some find it difficult to find the money to register, while others lack the funds to pay for residence or to travel each day to the university campus. SLC has a study emergency grant to assist Alumni to enroll but also to continue their studies in the event of a funding emergency during their studies. This year I will be cycling 109 km on the day of the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2019 and asking supporters to sponsor me with at least R100p/km, or as many km as they would like.
