Personal message

My name is Connor Hibbert and I am a sixteen-year old boy (Grade 11) from Pietermaritzburg, KZN. I am attempting to raise funds for myself. The reason for my fundraising is that I was selected to be a chorister in the KZN Midlands Youth Choir. The choir will be travelling to Germany to participate in various concerts and to possibly, share choral knowledge with some of the local schools, in particular the exchange of traditional pieces of music. The KZN Midlands Youth Choir has a renowned African programme, and to be able to share our music with the rest of the world will be a memorable experience. These tours only occur every two years due to the exorbitant costs associated to travelling overseas, which means that this is my only opportunity whilst still in school to travel outside the borders of our country.

I sincerely believe that this trip will be amazing opportunity for me to represent my school and my country on the international stage, as next year I will be in Grade 12 and will need to focus all my attention on my studies. The funds raised will be used to pay for the tour costs i.e. visas, flight costs and accommodation. I am currently doing various odd jobs for family and friends to raise some funds, but unfortunately this will not be enough. I appeal to you, the public, to help me in my attempt to raise the necessary money to help me join the KZN Midlands Youth Choir in Germany.
