Delarize's story:
Delarize fell at school a month before she went to the hospital; her leg was swollen, and we just assumed she might have hurt a muscle. We went to get pills from the pharmacy, and she was also at the clinic when they gave her more pills and salt tablets.
September 12, 2023:
When nothing worked, we decided to take her to the Dr. so that he can see what's wrong. Dr. Botha checked if there was any moisture or blood in the leg and said we should take her immediately for x-rays.
September 13:
We had her at Pholosong Hospital for the x-rays. The doctor there said she had to go to Johannesburg Gen hospital immediately.
September 14:
Delarize was admitted to Johannesburg Gen for further treatment and tests.
September 14:
She went for blood tests, and they took X-rays again.
September 16:
She was put on a drip; her Poticiam Levels were low.
September 20:
They did the MRI scan.
September 21:
They did a CT scan.
September 26:
They did a biopsy.
September 27:
There was a leg scan done. Later that day, she went again for a leg scan. The doctor just said that we have to wait for all the results to come back.
October 11:
They decided to move her to the Cancer Ward.
We want to get Delarize a prosthetic leg so she can walk, run, play, swim, and do everything a 14-year-old girl should do.
Unfortunately, the state has a 7-year waiting list for a prosthetic leg, so we would like to raise funds for her to buy her a prosthetic leg. But it is frighteningly expensive, and she will also have to attend physio. At this stage, we don't have the finances. Mum is a stay-at-home mum, and dad has his own small business, but like everyone else, dad's work is a bit quiet now. Delarize is our only daughter, and we would like to try and make things as easy as possible for her and give her a normal childhood.
If her story touches you, please make a donation, regardless of whether it's just R50. Every little bit helps, and every little bit will be truly appreciated. There is an account for her so that all funds can go to her.
Thank you.
