Greetings,
My brother, at 42, has achieved a remarkable feat considering his condition. Both of us battle cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening genetic illness we've grappled with since birth. Additionally, he faces a severe form of autism that limits his ability to work, despite his incredible talent with computers.
Trikafta, a miraculous drug enhancing lung function for CF patients, remains unavailable in South Africa. We must travel to Argentina for this essential medication, costing R60,000 per month. This doesn't include frequent liver and lung function tests, which amount to R2,000 every six weeks.
Despite the uphill battle, my brother's lung capacity has increased from 30% to 60%, but the struggle persists. Any support, no matter how small, means the world to us. I've even started a small promotional gifts and clothing company to assist, but it's insufficient to cover these expenses.
Your generosity in any form will be greatly appreciated and make an immense difference in my brother's ongoing fight for better health.
Thank you deeply for considering and supporting our cause.
Warm regards,
Tessa De Villiers
