Good day everyone,Up until two years ago I had been living with my mother, who due to our circumstances, would definitely have allowed me to qualify for bursaries. However, she passed away from Liver cancer in 2021, my first year of university.
I now live with my dad and his wife who are also supporting three other kids and my Gran-in-law. This has caused that they never prepared to have to take care of my expenses and they have needed to take out loans to afford my university fees.
I have also been struggling to get any bursaries, as I'm sure everyone is aware of how difficult those are to get and how poorly managed they are as well.
I have now completed my studies this year and am going to apply for Honours in Chinese. An honours in Chinese has the students go to China for a semester, partially covered by the University. This is a problem as us students have no choice but to fund the outstanding funds, including the plane tickets back to South Africa, which alone can cost between R20 000 to R40 000.
I am asking for any donations that I can put towards paying for this plane ticket back. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
