My little girl, Caitlin, was born via an emergency c-section on 7 December 2022 due to a Placenta Abruption that I had. Both of our lives were saved that day and I am truly thankfull for being able to hold my little girl in my arms.
Caitlin's heart stopped beating and she had prolonged resussatation in order to save her, my Paediatrician gave her all and at around 10min after life, she got Caitlin back and my baby girl is here today with us thanks to my Paediatrician not giving up on her.
Unfortunately the trauma left Caitlin with bilateral deafness and currently she is a candidate for cochlear implants. Medically, it has been a roller coaster for me with ups and downs and a lot of tears. I am currently with the Pretoria Cochlear Implant Unit on my journey with Caitlin and it is going great.
I had to change my Medical Aid and even though I have the best plan possible, there are still a lot of expenses we have to pay out of our own pockets. We live in Kroonstad and have to travel to Pretoria at least once a month, sometimes more. Petrol, guesthouses and a lot of Caitlin's treatments are not covered and we would really appreciate any amount to help with this. Every single contribution will make a difference to us and give Caitlin the care she deserves in order for this little miracle baby to be able to hear our voices and to learn to speak and live a normal life as much as she possibly can.

Help Caitlin to hear Campaign
Caitlin's emergency birth in 2022 saved both our lives, but left her with deafness. She's now a candidate for cochlear implants. Our journey's been emotional, with ongoing treatments at the Pretoria Cochlear Implant Unit. However, expenses like travel and Caitlin's treatments aren't fully covered by our new medical aid. Any help would greatly support Caitlin's care, giving her the chance to hear and live as normally as possible. Thank you for considering helping us.
