Personal message
Botshabelo runs a Babies Home for children that have been abandoned, orphaned or given up for adoption.
We love and care for these children until they are placed in a Forever Family!
Botshabelo also consists of Urban Kids, a preschool for underprivileged children,as well as a training programme for preschool teachers teaching in "backyard preschools" in the township of Olievenhoutbosch.
We care for over 800 beneficiaries every day. And we'd love your help!

Botshabelo was established in the year 2000 as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), focusing on children’s foundation education and transforming teaching approach in South Africa through a partnership with low-income communities. The NPO is constituted by a committed and passionate group of diverse team members. Over the last 20 years, we have reached more than 85 500 beneficiaries across rural and peri-urban areas through our various programmes.
There are four catalytic programmes that Botshabelo focuses on:
- Babies home (Residential care for orphaned babies).
- UpliftED teacher training programmes (Early Childhood Development Training).
- Urban Kids Educare Centre ( Foundation education).
- Urban Closet (2nd Hand Shop)
