Personal message

I am the niece of Bonita Lee Hiebner (Nini) . I have set up this page after my aunt fought many battles regarding her health. 22 years ago she had open heart surgery where her Aorta and valve was replaced. 2 weeks later, Nini ended up back in hospital with Steven's-Johnson syndrome resulting to blisters forming all over her body and leaving her without any finger or toenails. Nini also had aneurysms on her brain which resulted in her losing her eye site for a little while. She recently had sudden pain in her back and it was discovered her Aorta had dissected (a tear in the inner layer of the large blood vessel coming from the heart). Surgery to fix the Aorta presented only a 25% chance of survival and it was decided not to proceed. Nini also had 5 knee operations/replacements which means she cannot walk without crutches and after a recent fall, has been using a wheel chair and walker.

The dissected Aorta has resulted in Nini needing to be on oxygen at all times or she becomes out of breath. Her blood oxygen drops too quickly. Nini is now homebound given that the oxygen machine she has is not portable and she is therefore unable to leave home or move around.

I have set up this funding page to assist Nini to purchase a portable oxygen machine so that she can get out and live an 'as close to normal life' as possible.

The portal oxygen machine costs around R40 000. Every little bit donated will make a positive impact and we would appreciate your contribution to helping Nini live her best life possible.

Bonnies breath of life Campaign

I am the niece of Bonita Lee Hiebner (Nini), and after numerous health challenges, including open heart surgery, Steven's-Johnson syndrome, aneurysms, and a dissected Aorta, we are seeking donations to help purchase a portable oxygen machine (costing around R40,000) for Nini, who is now homebound, enabling her to live a more normal life by maintaining adequate oxygen levels and mobility. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
