Hello, I'm Bennie Fourie, a 73-year-old living in a retirement village in Port Elizabeth. Life has taken unexpected turns, and I'm reaching out for a bit of help to take the next step—a step toward regaining my mobility and independence.

The Story: Five years ago, diabetes led to the loss of my leg, confining me to a wheelchair. Every day since, I've longed to walk again, to reclaim the freedom of movement.

The Hurdle: I solely depend on a Sassa grant and lack medical aid. State hospitals have lengthy waiting lists due to high demand and limited supply, making getting a prosthetic limb a daunting challenge.

The Solution: Dr. Riaan Knight, a medical orthotic and prosthetist in Port Elizabeth, has offered to create a prosthetic for me at a discounted cost. The standard price is R69750, but with your support, I aim to raise R20000 to enable Dr. Knight to begin the process.
