Personal message

Being able to give back to the people of South Africa means so much to me because I was given so much support during life – particularly during my sporting career. In fact, I believe giving a little to others less fortunate than ourselves is something everyone can do.  Every little bit helps.

I also feel strongly about the fact that we need to take particular care of our children because they are the future of our country. That’s why I am so pleased to have been able to get involved with MaAfrika Tikkun.  I’ve seen the incredible work they do in some of our really deprived areas.  I’ve seen the looks on the children’s faces when they receive something as simple as a soccer ball and a T-shirt. I feel privileged to be able to work with MaAfrika Tikkun to help them do a little more – to help them to reach and possibly change the live of another child.

I was delighted to be invited to join the MaAfrika Tikkun Dream Team to walk 8km in the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk. Eight kilometres for me won’t be a problem – in fact it will be a please to walk with so many other people who also believe in the MaAfrika Tikkun dream. However, with your support those 8kms can go a long, long way to making a huge difference in the lives of children who are so much less fortunate than you and me.

Please give generously and support me once again, this time not on the soccer field, but as I walk for MaAfrika Tikkun and the children of South Africa.

Thank you so much

Afrika Tikkun

Charity Default Logo

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
